Oberwiesenthal – the highest town in Germany – is a health resort which because of its altitude (Fichtelberg mountain 1,215 m) in the Upper Erzgebirge reliably offers snow from November to March, backed up by a large-scale snow making machine. Ten classified slopes, 70 km of cross-country ski tracks, ski-lifts, chair lifts, and cable-cars, floodlit slopes, halfpipe, railway and toboggan runs. The hotel lies directly on the ski slopes and is an ideal starting point for hikes, excursions and Nordic walking. In the summer there is the opportunity to explore the 150 km hiking network, the Nordic walking routes, summer toboggan runs, riding stables, try the rope course garden, or go on trips with the small-gauge railway or the historical mail coach.
The hotel has 388 rooms, including 36 suites with panorama view. All rooms are fitted with en-suite shower/Bad/WC and satellite TV.
The hotel caters for a range of gastronomic tastes, provides weekly special-theme buffets, and also offers a vitality corner for guests with a special interest in their health. Give yourself a treat in one of the four restaurants.
